I grew up in loving home, but we were poor. My mother worked two and sometimes three jobs at a time. I didn’t realize we were poor until I got to high school. That’s when you notice how different some kids have it. We never talked about money growing up unless it was a problem we faced due to lack of funds.
By the time I got married I decided I never wanted my family to struggle financially. I longed for a way to be a blessing to my family and to others. And a conversation I had with a mentor several years ago gave me an “aha!” moment. He talked to me about having multiple revenue streams – My job. Real estate. Investments. And even a side businesses. I’ve been learning about entrepreneurship ever since. The vending business is my latest venture.
I hope to provide better for my family. And I hope to bless others also. I’m a Christian, and a big part of what I believe hinges on generosity. God has lavished His love on me. I received a full scholarship to go to college in Houston. A wealthy man paid my way. I’ve been fortunate to meet very generous people in my journey. I want to return the favor one day. How awesome would it be to cut a 50k check to build an orphanage, build a water well, or build a school for children in need? I hope to be able to do that some day.
